about

This Time Around is an anthem written for people who, through whatever circumstances, have been driven inward by fear, doubt, disappointment, etc. The song calls the listener out of such a grave and into a place of faith to move forward.

Written 16 years ago on a beat down upright piano (who's only functional keys were pretty much the ones used to compose the song) and an empty used up Greek Tonys pizza box beaten on with drum sticks, Brian and Chris simply jumped on the whale of a song that surfaced and McFarland penned the lyrics on the plane ride to the recording studio in the 11th hour. The lyrics and Spirit seem more relevant today than ever.

lyrics

THIS TIME AROUND

Wake up young lovers the time of your desire has come
Your folded hands and the voice of your prayers have won
It's been a terrible storm of blindness that drove us inside
Come on out of your graves and let your dead bodies come to life tonight

We hid ourselves where we'd never be found but come out tonight with faith as our sight
It's our illusions that keep us down but we can get out this time around

They say the darkest hour must come before the sun will rise
Been so long we are not all certain that the sun still shines
Praying hearts stay faithful 'til the body be full of light
Praying hands be faithful that our eyes be made full of sight
Be made open tonight

This moments gonna pass us by but we won't let it go, we won't if we know what is right
Its only rumors that keep us down but we can get out this time around
My God this may take my life but, stripped of myself I may finally be falling for you
falling for you, falling for you

'cause you give all and you don't give out
you give all and you don't give out

You set this thing in motion, I'm giving it whole devotion
but when will our eyes be open
You set this thing in motion, I'm giving it whole devotion
but when will our lives be open
when will our eyes be open
